CareerLandings :: Privacy Statement
Career Landings has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for the CareerLandings.com website, and for landing pages or microsites that we host for our clients, unless otherwise specifically indicated.
The Career Landings System and CareerLandings.com
The purpose of the CareerLandings.com website is to provide our prospects and clients with information relevant to the Career Landings system, the core product, and the additional features and services that can be engaged.
The business of Career Landings is to provide personalized messages embedded within a URL, that bring our clients' prospective employers to a special landing page or microsite, which motivates them to consider hiring our clients, or some other action. In the course of this process, Career Landings collects data about our clients; these data are the property of each respective client. Career Landings reserves the right to present user data in aggregate, for each campaign, for promoting the efficiency and effectiveness of the Career Landings system.
Gathering and Use of Client-Specific Data
You may visit CareerLandings.com without identifying yourself, but if you'd like to learn more about what we offer, you may need to register. Any information you provide during the registration process will become part of your account.
Initially, we use this information to contact you, then on an "as needed" basis to alert or update you about our products, services, and information vital to serving you better. We will send email messages if you have opted-in. We immediately remove anyone who does not want to be on the email list any longer. At this time, we do not have an email newsletter.
If client contact information changes (such as contact name, company affiliation, address, phone number, email address, etc.), we provide a way to correct or update this information. This can be done by changing your account Profile, or by contacting us using one of the methods indicated at the end of this Privacy Statement.
Gathering and Use of All Visitor Data
Profile Data
For all "visitors," that is, visitors to CareerLandings.com as well as visitors to our clients' landing pages/microsites, we store information that we collect through cookies, log files, clear gifs, and/or third parties, to create profiles. A profile is stored information that we keep on each visitor that details their past behavior and preferences. Consequently, collected information may be tied to a visitor's personally identifiable information to provide offers and improve the content of the site. This profile is used to customize a website visitor's experience, and to direct pertinent marketing promotions to them. Profile data may also be linked to other data in outside databases as needed.
Cookies
A cookie is comprised of data stored on a visitor's computer, tied to information about them. When visitors come to one of our sites, we may use session ID cookies, persistent cookies, or both as needed. (For the session ID cookie, once visitors close the browser, the cookie simply terminates. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the visitor's hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies can be removed by following Internet browser help file directions.) Persistent cookies enable us to track and target the behavior and interests of visitors to enhance their experience on the site. Persistent cookies also enable our clients to track and target prospects and customers who visit pages on our servers, then subsequently visit pages on their own servers. Some of our clients may place cookies on pages that we host on our servers on their behalf. However, we have no access to, or control over, these cookies once we have given permission for a client to set cookies for their own purposes.
This privacy statement covers the use of cookies on Career Landings servers only and does not cover the use of cookies placed and used by our clients or other third parties. To learn more about our clients' use of cookies, please contact that respective client. Cookies may be tied to visitors' personally identifiable information as needed.
Log Files
Like most standard website servers, we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track visitors' movements, and gather information for aggregate use. Depending on need, IP addresses, etc. may be tied to personally identifiable information. We use various tracking utilities that utilize log files to analyze visitor movements.
Clear Gifs
Depending on need, we may employ a software technology called clear gifs (a.k.a. web beacons/web bugs), that help to better manage content on our servers by informing us what content is effective. Clear gifs are tiny graphics linked to a unique identifier, such as a cookie, and are used to track the online movements of visitors. Clear gifs may be tied to visitors' personally identifiable information as needed. Clear gifs can work with existing cookies on a computer to show past online behavior on that computer. Some of our clients may place clear gifs on pages that we host on our servers on their behalf. However, we have no access to, or control over, a clear gif's use once we have given permission for a client to place a clear gif for their own purposes. To learn more about our clients' use of clear gifs, please contact that respective client.
In addition, clear gifs may be used in HTML-based emails to indicate which emails have been opened by recipients. This allows us to gauge the effectiveness of certain communications and the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns. If recipients would like to opt-out of these emails, please contact us through one of the methods indicated at the end of this Privacy Statement.
Server Security
We take all reasonable precautions possible against hacking of our webserver, client and customer databases. Because of the security risk, we do not hold credit card numbers, social security numbers, or any other sensitive data anywhere on our webservers.
Information Policies of Career Landings
Career Landings believes that your information belongs to you -- our valued clients. We do not rent, sell, or otherwise share individual client or user information with third parties. The only circumstance where we would disclose such information is when required by law, wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order, or legal process served on our website. The only circumstances where Career Landings' client information would be technically "sold" is if Career Landings were bought by another entity. In that case, all the company's assets, including its client database, would transfer to the purchasing entity.
As mentioned above, Career Landings reserves the right to present user data in aggregate, for each campaign, for promoting the efficiency and effectiveness of the Career Landings system. We work with each client to keep its proprietary data confidential.
If we were to decide to change our privacy policy, we would post those changes to this privacy statement, our home page, and other places we deem appropriate, so that clients and users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. If, however, we are going to handle client or user information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, we will notify clients via email and via a posted notice on our website for 30 days.
Information Policies of Clients and Other Third Parties
Pages at CareerLandings.com, and pages that we host on behalf of our clients, can contain links to other outside sites, such as those of our clients. Career Landings is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such third-party websites. In addition, as the property of each respective client, any data collected by Career Landings about a client's prospective employer are also subject to that client's privacy policies.
Advertising
No advertising appears on the pages of CareerLandings.com. Any ads appearing on pages we host for a client are delivered to users by an advertising partner contracted by that client. Information about visits to those pages, such as number of times users have viewed an ad, may be used to serve additional ads on those pages. For more information about the policies of an advertising partner, please contact the client upon whose pages the ad appeared.
